The first brick wall that I made was a literally constructed painting. Put together as an object in miniature scale, it functioned as a representation of something (a painting) in both two and three-dimensional space. Eventually the walls evolved into other forms such as chairs and letterforms. The chair form has appealed to me as a "primary object" much in the same way that a square, triangle or circle are regarded as primary shapes.
